The Fae Source
2007 by CL
This magic is used by the Fae, the Corrupt, and those with Fae blood except the Elves.
Possibilities
Because the Fae are created by dreams, their powers are centered on the mind, heart, and soul. Overall, these powers are illusory in nature, relying on trickery and the natural instinct mortals have to believe that which they see or feel is real. Some, however, can actually bend reality to their thoughts, creating items from nothing, or opening a walkway that spans miles but requires only a single step. Still others can enter the mind, twisting thoughts and memories to their will, or simply reading what is there.
All Fae are capable of seeing auras, which makes it difficult to hide from them. This means that they are capable of seeing where magic is, who is fae, or if someone is diseased or plagued. They are also all able to travel between the Fae (Nether) and Mortal realms by “drawing” a door with their finger. Most use actual doorways to escape notice, but they can actually do this in mid-air.
Limitations
Fae powers are fueled by dreams and emotions. Each Fae has their own specific fuel, whether it is laughter, sexual energy, or even malice (for the Corrupt).
Containment
Small amounts of Fae energy can be placed into an attuned item, such as a talisman or favored piece of jewelry. This is usually used to combat mortal detection.
